[print"lines=60"] [print"boldon"]Philosophy 200: Midterm Report[print"boldoff"]
[OnePerPage][print"elite"]
Name: [name]
Below is a record of your grades in Philosophy 200, as of
[Date].
Your average quiz grade is [task#9], out of a possible 10
points. Individual quiz grades are:
[header][" ":7]["Quiz":5]["Score":5]
[repeat8][dtask#1][" ":5][TaskNum:5][TaskScore:5:0]
[headeroff]
For the final grade, the lowest quiz grade will be dropped.
If you miss a quiz because of an EXCUSED absence, you should
let me know at the next class period. Quizzes missed
because of UNEXCUSED absences cannot be made up.
Your grade on the midterm was [dtask#13][taskscore:0:0], out of a possible
[tasktotal:0:0] points. Approximate letter grades for this
exam are:
85-100: A
76-84: B
69-75: C
46-68: D
The mean score was 72.19, and the scores ranged from 46-89.
Remember that the letter grade is only an approximate
indication of your performance on the exam. The final score
for the semester will be based on total points earned, not
on letter grades.
So far you could have earned 50 points, which account for
50% of the final grade. The midterm report score is based
on your quiz average (15%), convergence paper #1 (15%), your
cluster journals (10%, 10 points if all have been
completed), and your midterm exam (10%). Your midterm report
score is [task#16:0:0]. Approximate letter grades are:
40-50: A
35-39: B
30-34: C
20-29: D
Again, remember that your final score will be based on
points earned, not letter grades. If your midterm report
score is 38, your grade is closer to an A- or B+; if your
score is 35, it is closer to a B-.
The remaining 50% of your grade will be based on Convergence
Papers 2 and 3, each worth 15%, and the final exam, worth
20%. If you are having difficulty, please see me and
consider working with Matthew Burgess, the Philosophy
Department Assistant. You should also be sure to work with
the Writing Center on drafts of your Convergence Papers.
Lastly, be in class and be sure to keep up with the reading.
There is still time to raise your grade significantly if it
is lower than you want it to be. Remember that preparing
for quizzes is the best preparation for the final exam.
